Its shape is cylindrical, with a rough and very thin skin, covered in small hairs. The great appeal to this fruit is its exotic flavor, slightly acidic and the intense green color of its pulp.
The kiwifruit is more than 700 years old, but it arrived in Chile in 1980. It has adapted well to local climatic conditions, which is why the country is now among the leading producers of this fruit.
The main destination for Chilean kiwi exports is Europe. The Chilean kiwi is available from March to November.
